2. Overview
Photos Cleanup helps you sort photos on your computer and on your phone. Your photos, previews and sorting choices stay on your own devices. They are not sent to Photos Cleanup servers, and we cannot see them. We do not use your photos for advertising.
3. The Mac and Windows app and pairing
The computer app shows the photos of the folders you choose on your paired phone. Previews travel directly between your computer and your phone over your local network, encrypted. Pairing works by scanning a QR code; the trusted devices are stored on both devices, and you can remove them at any time.
Your sorting choices and the history of applied changes are stored in a local database on your computer. Photos you delete go to the Trash or Recycle Bin of your computer. The computer app does not send your photos, filenames or choices to the internet.
Legal basis: Where processing is relevant under data protection law, it is necessary to provide the features you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
4. Photos on your phone
With your permission, the phone app reads your photo library to show your photos and, after you confirm, to delete them or add them to albums. You can change the photo access at any time in your device settings. Your choices are stored in the app on your phone.
The camera is used only to scan the pairing QR code. Camera images are not stored or sent anywhere.

5. Advertising with Google AdMob (free version only)
In the free version, the phone app may show ads from Google AdMob. Pro is ad-free and does not request ads. Photos Cleanup does not send your photos, filenames or sorting choices to AdMob and does not use them for ad targeting.
To serve, limit and measure ads, and to personalize ads only with your consent, Google and the ad technology partners listed in the consent dialog may process device and online identifiers (including the advertising ID), IP address, ad interactions, consent status and technical device information. The consent dialog shows the specific purposes, partners and data categories before you decide.
For people in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app shows the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) when required. You can decline, consent or manage your choices, and change or withdraw them later under Settings → Ad privacy choices. Declining does not affect the core features of the app.
Legal basis: For consent-based ad processing, your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where applicable, § 25(1) TDDDG. For purposes marked as "legitimate interest" in the consent dialog, the listed partner may rely on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; you can object at any time under Settings → Ad privacy choices. 6. Purchases and Pro
When you buy or restore Pro, Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) processes the payment. To check whether Pro is active, the app uses RevenueCat. This can include an anonymous identifier assigned by RevenueCat, purchase and entitlement status, product information and technical device information. Photos Cleanup does not send your photos, filenames or choices to RevenueCat.

7. This website
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. When you visit it, Cloudflare processes the connection data needed to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks, in particular your IP address, the requested page, the time and your browser's technical details. The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking. Fonts and images are served from our own domain.
The download and store buttons forward you to the download file, the App Store or Google Play. To pick the right store for your phone, our server reads your browser's user agent and language for that request only; nothing is stored.

8. Recipients and transfers to third countries
Depending on the features you use, Google, Apple, RevenueCat and Cloudflare can receive data as described above. These providers may also process data outside the EU/EEA, in particular in the United States. Where no adequacy decision applies, data is transferred only under the applicable safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. 9. Retention

10. Your rights
Subject to the legal requirements, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR. You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. For ad consent, use the ad privacy choices in the app; for all other requests, contact us at the email address above.
Your photos and choices exist only on your devices. You can delete them in the app or by uninstalling it. Because we have no access to this data, we cannot delete it remotely.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, usually the authority of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement. The Datenschutzkonferenz provides an overview for Germany.
